HARSTAD 
(Northern Norway)

A little less known than the popular city Tromso, the coastal town of Harstad in Northern Norway is just as beautiful & easy to reach by plane! With just a 1,5 hours flight from Oslo, your Arctic destination is within reach in a day if you depart from most countries in Central Europe. The Harstad/Narvik Evenes airport is located 40 km away from the city Harstad and offers a service bus which brings you to the city while enjoying a beautiful 50-minutes drive through the Norwegian landscape.

FLIGHTS

Harstad

Due to its remote location, the most popular way to travel to Harstad is by plane. Most international flights to Harstad requires a stopover in Oslo, but there are direct flights from London, Frankfurt, Copenhagen and Stockholm.
Scandinavian airlines (SAS) and Norwegian are the main airlines that have multiple flights a day to the airport Harstad/Narvik Evenes (EVE) via Oslo airport Gardemoen (OSL). AIRPORT TRANSFER TO THE SHIP 

Harstad

On the airport Harstad/Narvik Evenes there are taxi’s & an airport bus service ready at each flight and departure which runs towards the town in approximately 50 minutes. Tickets are easily purchased online or on the bus by debit card or cash. Timetables for the bus can be found on www.flybussen.no. Be aware that you will be driving through the beautiful Norwegian landscape on your way there!

The harbour of Harstad is situated opposite to the endstation Harstad By-Terminal. Under normal circumstances SV Noorderlicht is moored close to the ‘Clarion hotel Arcticus’, Havnegata 3, 9480 Harstad. This is the secondlast stop of the bus where you can step out and walk to your ‘home away from home’. Welcome aboard!

TROMSØ 
(Northern Norway)

The easiest way to travel to the popular Arctic city Tromsø in Northern Norway is by plane. With just a 1,5 hours flight from Oslo, your Arctic destination is within reach in a day if you depart from most countries in Central Europe! The Tromsø airport Langnes is located 5 km away from the city center Tromsø and offers a service bus which brings you to the city in a 10 minutes drive.

This is one of the stops of the bus where you can step out and walk to your ‘home away from home’. Welcome aboard!

LONGYEARBYEN 
(Svalbard)

Even though Svalbard is the last piece of land before you reach the North pole, it is not as far as you might think! Since it is just a 3 hours flight from Oslo, it is possible to depart from a country in Central Europe in the morning and arrive in the Arctic town of Longyearbyen in the evening.

Scandinavian airlines (SAS) and Norwegian are the main airlines that have regular flights to the airport Svalbard Longyear (LYR) from airport Oslo Gardemoen (OSL) and airport Tromso Langnes (TOS). PASSPORT AND VISA

Longyearbyen

Norway is part of the Schengen area. The Norwegian authorities do not require an extra visa for entry to Svalbard, but if you have a visa requirement to enter the Schengen area, you must have a visa if you travel via Norway/the Schengen area on your way to or from Svalbard. Because Svalbard is located outside the Schengen area, all travellers to Svalbard must go through passport control in Oslo or TromsÔ. Please check your local ministry of foreign affairs for Visa and Passport requirements.

AIRPORT TRANSFER TO THE SHIP 

Longyearbyen

On the airport in Longyearbyen there are taxi’s & an airport shuttlebus ready at each flight and departure which runs towards the little town Longyearbyen in approximately 15 minutes. Tickets are easily purchased on the bus by debit card or cash and the bus leaves when everyone has received their luggage.
In the middle of the road, between the airport and the village, the so-called ‘floating pier’ is situated. SV Noorderlicht is moored here. Please tell the busdriver to stop at the floating pier.
